Paltan building fire under control

Firefighters brought the fire that broke out at a multi-storey building at Paltan in Dhaka under control in an hour-long effort today.

The damages caused by the fire could not be known immediately. 

The fire started on the fourth floor of the building around 5:45pm and 14 firefighting units doused it around 6:40pm, said Kazi Enayet Hossain, officer-in-charge of Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters.

The official said they were yet to ascertain the cause of the fire.
