Farmer Ranjit committed suicide

After 44 days, the post-mortem report that came out yesterday shows farmer Ranjit Chandra Roy, 48, of Sialkhowa village in Kaliganj upazila committed suicide by hanging himself.

Ranjit's body was found hanging from a roadside tree on December 8 last year.

Investigation Officer of Kaliganj Police Station SI Raju Ahmed said he will submit the autopsy report before the court in two days.

“My husband was tortured to death and the body was hanged from a tree to pass it as suicide,” Ranjit's wife Bharati Rani said.
