Family feud instigates her suicide

A woman was found dead at her parents' house in Char Bisnopur village of Sadarpur upazila on Tuesday.

The deceased was Lima Akhter, 20, daughter of Barak Mridha of the village.

She married Rakib Sheikh, 29, son of Salam Sheikh of Hajiganj village in Charbhadrasan upazila last year.

Barak Mridha said Rakib's family members often tortured Lima after her marriage.

“Last week, she came to my house following a family feud,” he said.

On Tuesday noon, seeing Lima's room locked from inside, the family members broke the door open and found her body hanging from the ceiling.

The incident took place in absence of Lima's parents from the home, said the father.

Contacted, Rakib said, “Lima willingly went to her father's house one week ago. I do not know why she committed suicide.”

Charbhadrasan police said a general dairy was filed in this connection.
