Bandarban locals asked to evacuate hills

Authorities today asked residents to clear the hilly areas of Bandarban fearing landslide for the incessant rain of the last few days.

Mizanul Haque Chowdhury, deputy commissioner of Bandarban, has asked them to move to safety of nearby primary schools, our local correspondent reports.

The announcement was being broadcast through loudspeakers in seven upazilas of the district since this report was last filed around 11:00am.
