Ensure anti-venom vaccines

Speakers tell Tangail rally

Speakers at a rally in Basail upazila of the district yesterday demanded storing of anti-venom vaccines at all upazila health complexes in the country to save people's lives.

Five Star Kindergarten School and online portal Basail News 24.com organised the programme joined by people from all walks of life, including students and teachers of different local schools.

On September 20, local schoolteacher Ayesha Akter Shimu, 27, was bitten by a poisonous snake, said the speakers. 

When she was rushed to the Kumudini Hospital in Mirzapur upazila, doctors said they had no anti-venom vaccine. The victim later died at a hospital in Dhaka.

They do not want to lose any other bright person like Shimu due to lack of anti-venom vaccine at any hospital, said the speakers.

They demanded keeping of anti-venom vaccines at all upazila health complexes in the country.  

Principal of Five Star Kindergarten School Mehedi Hasan and Editor and Publisher of Basail News 24.com Enayet Karim Bijoy, among others, spoke at the programme.
