Guardians of English medium school students urged the concerned authorities not to impose any hartal or blockade during the O and A-level examinations scheduled for the May-June session.

“It is an international exam and is held simultaneously all over the world. The authority cancels O, A-level exams during hartal and we don’t want the future of the students to be hampered” said Atia Ahmed, one of the guardians.

The guardians demanded this in a press conference held at the National Press Club in Dhaka this morning.

They also urged the authorities concerned to create a congenial atmosphere so that their children can sit for the examinations on time.

The BNP-led 20-party alliance has enforced hartal on all working days since February 1, on top of the nonstop countrywide blockade which was called from January 6 of this year.

Earlier, the government was forced to reschedule several SSC and equivalent examinations due to the hartal.
