EC warns of actions against negligence of duty

Stern actions will be taken against law enforcers and polling officers if they show any negligence of duty during the second phase of Union Parishad elections, said an Election Commission official.

Election Commissioner Md Shah Nawaz came up with the warning two days before the second phase UP polls scheduled to be held on March 31.

Talking to reporters at his EC secretariat office, the commissioner said, “We will not tolerate if any of them (law enforcers and polling officials) are found sitting silent during ballot stuffing or any irregularities.”
