Digital fair begins

Speakers at a discussion following the inauguration of a three-day Digital Innovation Fair in the town yesterday emphasised united efforts to materialise the dream of 'digital Bangladesh' as per Vision 2021 declared by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

District administration organised the fair at the ground of Thakurgaon Government High School to inspire people in innovative activities through using information and communication technology (ICT) at all levels.

Thakurgaon Deputy Commissioner Abdul Awal presided over the event.    

"The aim of digital Bangladesh is to build a knowledge and technology- based society by 2021 through incorporating ICT in different sectors including health, education, agriculture and communication," Kabir Bin Anwar, director general (admin) and project director of Access to Information (A2I) Programme, said in his speech at the chief guest there.

There is no alternative to automation through digitalisation for ensuring transparency and accountability at all levels and providing the government services quickly to the citizens' doorsteps, speakers said at the discussion.
