Declare March 25 as National Genocide Day: Shahriar Kabir

Shahriar Kabir, acting president of Ekattorer Ghatak Dalal Nirmul Committee, today called upon the government to declare March 25 as "National Genocide Day” showing due respect to the people killed in the Liberation War of Bangladesh in 1971.

He came up with the call while addressing a programme marking the silver jubilee of the pro-liberation platform at the Institution of Engineers’ Bangladesh in Dhaka this noon.

Shahriar also called upon the government to take diplomatic initiatives for attaining international reorganisation to the Black Night of March 25 when the then Pakistan occupation forces and their collaborators swopped on armless people and committed genocide on that night in 1971.
