The earlier decision to add 10 marks to the creative questions of SSC and HSC examinations after reducing it from MCQ portion stays, the education minister said today.

“The decision will not change. There is no logic or reason to change the decision,” Nurul Islam Nahid said in the wake of recent student protests over the creative questions.

Nahid was speaking at a press briefing at his ministry after meeting with the top academicians including Shahjalal University of Science and Technology Professor Zafar Iqbal and Dhaka University Pro Vice Chancellor Aktheruzzaman.

Earlier, 2 hours and 10 minutes was allotted to answer six creative questions, now students will get 2 hours and 30 minutes to answer seven creative questions, the minister said.

The minister further said that this basic change needs to be brought into the education sector.

“This basic change will be brought and we will see the change in a year,” said Zafar Iqbal.
