The authorities of Chittagong University (CU) today suspended two activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) in connection with Monday’s infighting on the campus.

The suspended activists are Mizanur Rahman Khan of management studies department and Mofazzal Haydar Hossain of Fine Arts Institute of the CU.

CU Proctor Ali Asgar Chowdhury said the authorities suspended the duo finding their involvement in Monday’s clash.

The university authorities took the decision at an emergency meeting of the syndicate this evening.

They were both 3rd year students, reports our CU correspondent.

Two BCL factions engaged in a clash over standing in the front row to greet admission seekers on the campus on Monday that left some 50 people including seven policemen injured.

Following the clash, the BCL central committee today called the CU BCL unit president and secretary to Dhaka, said the sources of CU BCL.
