Couple 'commit suicide'

A newly married couple allegedly committed suicide by hanging from the ceiling of their bedroom in Kurigram municipality on Tuesday.

Police sent the bodies of Milon Mia, 20, son of Belal Hossain of Haricash area, and his wife Monisha Akhtar, 17, daughter of Ayub Ali, to the hospital for autopsy, OC of Sadar Police Station Mahfujar Rahman said.

The duo went to bed on Tuesday night, police said, adding that, finding no response till yesterday noon, family members entered their room by breaking open the door and found them hanging from the ceiling.
