Cops sue public for beating the robbers to death

Police today filed a lawsuit against the public and the bank sued unknown looters over the daring robbery in Ashulia that left eight people dead.

The first, filed by Ashulia Police Station Sub-Inspector Zakaria Hossain, sued upto 300 anonymous people for beating dead one of the looters.

The second case, filed by Faridul Islam, second officer of the victim bank, sued upto 12 anonymous looters in connection to yesterday’s daring robbery.

Md Mostafa Kamal, officer-in-charge of Ashulia Police Station, confirmed both the cases while talking to The Daily Star this morning.

In broad daylight heist yesterday afternoon, about 8 to 10 armed looters stormed into the Kathgora branch of Bangladesh Commerce Bank and shot down seven people.

Locals managed to get hold of two robbers. One of them was beaten to death in mass beating while the other was handed over to police.
