The government will take initiatives to coordinate activities among the law enforcing agencies at bordering areas to prevent smuggling of arms and drugs, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan said today.

The minister came up with the comment before the reporters after a meeting with the lawmakers and chiefs of law enforcing agencies.

“We have received a suggestion from the MPs on coordinating activities of the law enforcing agencies in bordering areas,” he told reporters.

The law enforcing agencies (Rapid Action Battalion, Border Guard Bangladesh, Coastguards, police and other agencies) should have coordination among them, he said adding that “So, we have accepted the suggestion and decided to take steps in this regard.”

The law enforcing agencies have coordination in curbing militancy, he said.
