Chuadanga conjoined twins shifted to Dhaka

The conjoined twin baby girls, who were born through a caesarean in Chuadanga on Wednesday, were shifted to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University in the capital yesterday.

They have been shifted to Dhaka as specialist surgeons are needed to separate them, said local doctors.

The twins are joined from chest to abdomen while their head, face, eyes, ears, hands and legs are normal, said Mahmud Bin Hedayet Setu, a physician of Jibonnagar upazila health complex in Chuadanga, who conducted the caesarean.

Father of the newborn twins, Mukul Hossain, a small farmer, has made a plea to the government for financially support for the operation needed to separate the babies.
