BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi today accused the government high ups of "planning for the attack" on Khaleda Zia’s motorcade in Feni on October 28.

“The attack was carried out as part of a plan made by the government high-ups,” Rizvi came up with the accusation, a day after Feni district unit AL leader Azharul Haque Arzu accused local lawmaker Nizam Uddin Hazari of playing a key role in the incident.

Claiming that Nizam Hazari is the “mastermind” of the attack, Rizvi said, “It's not possible to keep the cat in the bag for a long time... now the cat is out of the bag.”

“Feni district unit Awami League leader unveiled the truth yesterday. There is now no doubt that Awami League MP Nizam Hazari is the mastermind of the incident,” Rizvi said at a press briefing at the party’s Nayapaltan headquarters this afternoon.

With the ruling Awami League and its archrival BNP trading blame game over the attack on Khaleda's motorcade, Feni AL leader Arzu at a press conference at the Jatiya Press Club in Dhaka accused Nizam Hazari of playing a key role in the October 28 incident.

Terming the attack pre-planned, Arzu also said the lawmaker did this to “take revenge against media outlets” for running reports against him.
