'Build awareness for safe migration'

Speakers at a workshop in Jessore town yesterday urged building awareness to check unsafe migration.

People of bordering districts Jessore, Jhenidah and Satkhira are vulnerable to being trafficked to India and other countries, said speakers at the workshop at NGO Forum's regional training centre.

NGO Rupantar organised the media workshop with the cooperation of EURCAP and International Organisation for Migration.

Rahenur Islam, assistant director of manpower and employment department, Jessore, Binoy Krishna Mallik, executive director of Rights Jessore, Dr Mostafizur Rahman, Prof Khairul Umam, and Jahid Hasan Tukun, president of Jessore Press Club, attended the event. Mizanur Rahman Panna, director of Rupantar, presided.
