BSF seizes 2kg explosive powder

Indian Border Security Force (BSF) has seized over 2kg explosive powder on the India-Bangladesh frontier.

On information, BSF members conducted a raid in Nadirkhan area under Engrejbazar Police Station of Malda district of West Bengal and chased a man carrying the powder in two bags.

The man managed to escape crossing the border, leaving behind the bags, reports our Kolkata correspondent.

The BSF men found the explosives after searching the bags.

A case has been filed in this regard with Engrejbazar Police Station.

The BSF and police jointly started investigating the incident on Thursday afternoon.

The seized explosives have been sent for forensic test, said Dilip Karmakar, IC of Engrejbazar Police Station.
