Brahmanbaria transport strike called off

The Transport Owners' and Workers' Union of Brahmanbaria yesterday called off their strike.

Buses on all routes in the district went off the streets from 6:00am as bus owners and workers called an indefinite strike to realise their six-point demand, including stoppage of the plying of banned vehicles on the highway.

They withdrew the strike after the the district administration assured them of meeting their reasonable demands among the six-point.

Earlier, transport leaders met with administration officials at the deputy commissioner's conference room.
