Bomb blast at AL candidate’s rally in Rajshahi, 5 injured

At least five people suffered splinter injuries as unknown miscreants blasted a crude bomb during a rally of Awami League’s mayoral candidate at Nawhata municipality in Rajshahi this evening.

Two of the injured -- Manik, 25, and Russel, 30 -- were taken to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital, reports our Rajshahi correspondent quoting Shariful Islam, officer-in-charge of Poba Police Station.

The cocktail was blasted when AL mayor aspirant Abdul Bari Khan along with some 50 of his supporters was conducting election campaign near an Ansar camp at Puthiapara around 7:00pm, the OC said.

None was arrested in this connection
