Instead of standing by haor flood victims, BNP is interested in photo sessions only, Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader alleged today.

Quader, also the road transport and bridges minister, threw the mud while addressing a rally at Moulvibazar's Juri upazila this morning.

Refuting BNP’s allegation that the government is not taking adequate measures to ease sufferings of the flood victims, Quader said: “They (BNP) do not provide relief assistance to the people rather they are interested in photo session”.

Moulvibazar district Awami League organised the rally to distribute relief among the flood victims.

Replying to a query on whether BNP will participate in the next parliamentary polls, he said: “Whatever they are saying at the moment, they will ultimately participate in the elections.”

Commenting on the BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia’s ‘Vision-2030’, Quader said, “BNP is plotting to raise a fake vision to counter the real vision and it will not be successful.”

The affected farmers will get necessary assistance as pledged by the government, the AL general secretary said.

“All sorts of assistance will continue uninterrupted till the next Boro season,” he told the rally.

Acting Deputy Commissioner of Moulvibazar district Ashrafur Rahman presided over the rally.
