BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today hoped that the party will become united and stronger through a fresh drive of central leaders.

He was referring to the 51 teams, formed of the party’s central senior leaders, which will visit district and grassroots to reshape the party ahead of the upcoming election.

The members of the teams were formed as per the decision of the party’s policy making body for an organisational tour in the districts that will begin from April 22.

“The teams will visit our all 75 organisational districts to meetings with the grassroots leaders and activists for reinforcing them,” Fakhrul told reporters at Nayapaltan central office.

During the visit, Fakhrul said the central leaders of the party will discuss all important political issues including the next election and the possible movement.

Party insiders said the teams will give the district leaders directives to take preparations for the next general election and a decisive movement to force the government to hold the polls under a neutral administration.

The next parliamentary election is to be held in January 2019 while the city corporation elections in the Rajshahi, Sylhet, Khulna, Barisal, Gazipur and Rangpur will be held in the middle of next year.
