“If government fails to trace Salahuddin, help can be taken from foreign investigation agencies,” said Mahbubur Rahman, BNP’s Standing Committee member today.

The former chief of army staff made the comment while visiting Salahuddin’s family in Gulshan, Dhaka. He extended his sympathy to the shocked family.

“There is an allegation that Salahuddin was picked up by plainclothes. And so, the government is bound to get him back to his family,” he said.

Responding to a query on whether BNP would be participating in the upcoming election of the bifurcated Dhaka and Chittagong City Corporation, he said the matter was “still undecided.”

“We are still discussing on the issue. A final decision has not been taken yet. We will clear our position formally once we reach a decision,” he said.
