Gloomy weather accompanied by daylong drizzles influenced by the rough weather at Bay of Bengal is likely to continue before showing signs of improvement Saturday.

The well-marked low over the Bay has intensified into a depression and is likely to move further north, Bangladesh Meteorological Department has said in its weather forecast.

Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over the country under the influence of weather.

“Daylong drizzles and a gloomy sky will persist today and tomorrow,” Md Abdul Mannan, a Met official, told The Daily Star. “We hope the weather will improve by Saturday.”

Meanwhile, as sunshine will wait until Saturday, rain will continue through most of the day. But, according to the Met official, the intensity of the rain is not likely to increase.

Currently, the maritime ports of Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Pyra have been advised to hoist local cautionary signal number 3, BSS reports. All vessels have been advised to exercise caution.
