Blake named as UK envoy in Dhaka

The UK government today announced Alison Blake as the next British high commissioner to Bangladesh.

She is to succeed the incumbent High Commissioner Robert W Gibson.

“Alison Blake has been appointed British high commissioner to Bangladesh in succession to Robert W Gibson CMG, who will be transferring to another diplomatic service appointment,” according to the official announcement of UK’s Foreign and Commonwealth Office.

Blake will take up her diplomatic assignment in Dhaka during January 2016.

Prior to her new assignment, Blake served as deputy high commissioner in Islamabad.
