Biman offers Tk 20,060 ticket on Dhaka-Bangkok route

Biman Bangladesh Airlines has offered a round trip ticket (Dhaka-Bangkok-Dhaka route) for only Taka 20,060 including all taxes, to travel to Thailand.

"Number of outbound Bangladeshi tourists to Bangkok is increasing day by day. We reduced our fare so that the national flag carrier can be the first choice for the local travelers," Biman's Public Relations General Manager Shakil Meraj told The Daily Star today.

Besides reducing the fare, he said, the national flag carrier is also offering passengers to carry extra luggage free of cost, he said.

Biman insiders said the reducing price is a part of the national airliner’s aggressive marketing strategies to grab the market share of Dhaka-Bangkok-Dhaka route.

Now economy class passenger can carry maximum 30 kg instead of earlier 20 kg and business class passenger can carry 40 kg for their checked baggage for Dhaka-Bangkok flight.

In case of Bangkok-Dhaka return flights, the economy class passengers can carry maximum 35 kg and business class passengers 45 kg for their checked luggage.

Apart from checked in luggage, passengers can carry maximum 7 kg in their carry-on baggage.

Currently, Biman operates Dhaka-Bangkok-Dhaka flight (Boeing 737-800) six days in a week.
