BCL man loses membership for beating journalist

Bangladesh Chhatra League's (BCL) Islamic University (IU) unit has suspended membership of an activist on charge of beating a journalist.

The suspended activist is Mithun Hossain Kabir, a fourth year student of information and communication technology department, BCL IU unit President Shahinur Rahman and General Secretary Jewel Rana Halim said in a statement yesterday.

Kabir and his accomplices beat up Shah Alam, IU correspondent of the daily Independent, at Sheikhpara bazar beside the campus on Friday evening over a previous matter, campus sources said.
