BCL man beaten dead in Pabna

An activist of Bangladesh Chhatra League, a front organisation of ruling Awami League, was beaten dead in Pabna town this evening.

Deceased Ariful Islam Sagar was son of Abdul Hamid of Kacharipara area in Pabna Sadar upazila, our Pabna correspondent reports.

“We are investigating whether the murder took place due to an intra-party conflict,” said Abdur Razzak, officer-in-charge of Pabna Sadar Police Station.

A group on unidentified youths picked up Sagar from technical intersection, took him to another place and beat him up mercilessly around 8:00pm, said the OC.

Sagar succumbed to his injuries on the way to Pabna Sadar Hospital, police said.
