Barber found dead in canal

The body of a man was recovered yesterday from a canal in Alangi bazar area under Alangi union of Dhunat upazila of the district.

The deceased was identified as Biplob Kumar, 22, son of Dipu Kumar Shil of the area.

Police, quoting family members of the deceased, said Biplob was a barber in the bazar, adding that he went missing on Friday afternoon while returning home from his shop.

His father found the body when he went to cut grass nearby a canal yesterday.

Officer-in-Charge of Dhunat Police Station Mizanur Rahman said no injury mark was found in the body, adding that he might have been strangled.
