Tauquir’s Oggatonama wins ‘Best Screenplay’ in SAARC Film Festival

Tauquir Ahmed achieved the best screenplay award for the film 'The Unnamed' (Oggatonama) in the SAARC Film Festival 2017, held in Sri Lanka's capital Colombo from 21 to 25 November.

Communication Co-ordinator (Bangladesh) of SAARC Film Festival -2017 Monjurul Islam Megh shared the information with UNB quoting the SAARC Film Festival and SAARC Culture centre Sri-Lanka's Senior Officer Mahinda Sundanaskara.

It was announced on Saturday evening after the conclusion of the film festival while a total of 16 films from eight countries taking part in the competition in different categories.

The film 'Premi o Premi' directed by Zakir Hossain Raju and Tauquir 's 'Oggatonama' were shown in the competition in the SAARC Film Festival from Bangladesh in 2017 while the directors of the films, attended the festival on the invitation.

The award was announced at 6:30 pm in the presence of prominent members of the closing ceremony, member of the jury board, members of the SAARC member states, directors of SAARC and prominent personalities of the member state. SAARC Secretary-General and Festival Authority handed over the award to Tauquir Ahmed.
