Mercury may rise from tomorrow: Met office

The current spell of cold weather may improve tomorrow, an official of Bangladesh Meteorological Department said today.

Today, 24 among 43 weather stations across the country reported temperature below the average degree expected in December, Kauser Parvin, deputy director of Bangladesh Meteorological Department in Dhaka, told The Daily Star Online.

Meanwhile, the met department, in its morning forecast, said weather may remain dry with partly cloudy sky over the country.

"Moderate to thick fog may occur at places over the country during midnight to morning," it said adding that "night and day temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country."

The lowest temperature was recorded at 10.1 degrees Celsius in Faridpur today, while the highest was 26.6 degrees Celsius in Teknaf, the met office said.

Yesterday, the lowest temperature was recorded at 8.4 degrees Celsius in Chuadanga, while it was 7.9 degrees Celsius in the same district on Thursday.
