1.96 lakh Bangladesh police to donate a day's salary for rehabilitation of drug addicts

All members of Bangladesh police force will provide their one day salary for the rehabilitation and treatment of drug addicts in a bid to establish a drug-free society.

The decision was taken today at the quarterly crime conference at the Police Headquarters with Inspector General of Police AKM Shahidul Hoque in the chair.

Presently, the force has nearly 1.96 lakh manpower.

High officials of PHQ, Chiefs of Special Branch, Criminal Investigation Department, Rapid Action Battalion, range DIGs and superintendents of police attended the conference.

Addressing the conference, the police chief stressed the need for creating awareness among the people about the negative impact of drug.
