Bangladesh Navy has rescued 24 more missing survivors from the Bay of Bengal in search and rescue in the aftermath of “severe cyclonic storm” Mora.

Navy Ships Dholeshwari and Aparajeyo spotted the fishermen floating on sea and picked them up from Elephant Point and near Kutubdia in Cox’s Bazaar, said a press release of ISPR today.

All the rescued fishermen were handed over to Patenga Police Station last evening.

Since the cyclone, 18 Bangladesh Navy Ships, helicopter and patrol aircrafts were engaged in search and rescue operation in the coastal areas and deep sea region.

Side by side, the Bangladesh Navy also continued relief operation and medical services among the affected people in Kutubdia and Saint Martin areas.

“Bangladesh Navy will continue rescue operation, relief distribution and emergency medical services in the affected areas until the situation improves,” said the ISPR press release.
