Bangladesh-India to jointly produce biopic on Bangabandhu

--A documentary on Bangladesh's Liberation War to be released in 2021

Bangladesh and India have agreed to produce a film based on the life and works of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi revealed this today in his welcome speech to his Bangladesh counterpart Sheikh Hasina.

The film will be released on the birth centenary of Bangabandhu in 2020, Modi said.

He also announced the release of the Hindi translation of Bangabandhu's autobiography 'Unfinished Memoirs'.

Praising Bangabandhu's unparallel personality and leadership Modi said, "His life, struggle and contribution to the creation of Bangladesh will continue to inspire future generations."

Modi also said in deep admiration for Bangabandhu, a prominent road in New Delhi has already been named after him.

Marking the Golden Jubilee Year of Bangladesh's independence, a documentary on Bangladesh's War of Liberation jointly produced by Bangladesh and India will also be released in 2021.
