Don’t catch fish in troubled water in the name of demo: Nasim

Health Minister Mohammad Nasim today warned the quota reform demonstrators not to go for any attempt to catch fish in the troubled water in the name of movement.

“Any type of issues can be resolved through discussion. So, no one should take any attempt to catch fish in the troubled water,” Nasim said after emerging from a meeting of the 14-party alliance at the secretariat this afternoon.

Nasim, spokesperson the of the 14-party alliance, said the demonstrators have created public sufferings across the country by blocking roads and halting traffic movement in the name of the agitation.

The demonstrators are attempting to hinder the country’s peace and stability which is not acceptable in any way, Nasim, also presidium member of the ruling Awami League, said.

He said the quota system has been existing since the long and the system is still active in different countries including the neighboring India.

The country’s constitution has guaranteed providing government job to physically challenged people and women and the people of minority communities, Nasim said.

Smelling hands of the third-party in the movement, Nasim said a group of people took the quota issue forefront intending to destabilise the country’s peaceful atmosphere.

“I like movement by sitting across the table but don’t want to accept any terrorist activities on the streets,” he said.
