Govt asked to recruit a physically challenged man as family planning inspector

The High Court today directed the government to appoint a physically challenged man, who had qualified to the post of family planning inspector but was deprived of the job.

The authorities concerned were asked to recruit Russel Dhali of Munshiganj’s Sirajdikhan upazila under the quota for physically challenged people in 30 days from the date of receipt of the HC verdict.

The HC bench of Justice Naima Haider and Justice Zafar Ahmed came up with the directives after hearing a writ petition filed by Russel seeking necessary order to recruit him under the quota.

Petitioner’s lawyer Mohammad Siddique Ullah Miah told The Daily Star that his client along with 56 other candidates of Sirajdikhan’s Ichhapur union qualified in the written examination for the post of family planning inspector in 2013.

Russel scored 28 marks out of total 30 in the viva voce but he was not given the job although 15 were recruited in the post, he added.
