Bailey bridge collapse snaps Dhaka-Barisal road links

Road communication between Dhaka and Barisal remains suspended since early today after a bailey bridge collapsed in Enna area of Gaurnadi upazila.

The bridge collapsed when an overloaded truck was passing through it, locals said.

Following the incident, the communication of several southern districts with the capital has been halted, causing immense sufferings to people.

However, the repair work began immediately after the incident and was still underway till filing the report.
