Bagmara blast linked to past attacks: Home minister

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan today said yesterday’s bomb attack on a mosque of Ahmadiyya Muslim community in Bagmara of Rajshahi was linked to all other terrorist attacks in the past.
The home minister claimed that “all these incidents are similar and linked,” adding “there is an international conspiracy behind it,” reports Bangla daily Prothom Alo.

Yesterday, during the simultaneous celebration of Christmas and Eid-e-Miladunnabi, a “suicide blast” (according to police) in the Ahmadiyya mosque killed the suspected attacker and injured three others in Rajshahi’s Bagmara.
Today, law enforcers sued two unknown assailants over the blast.
The minister was speaking at a programme organised by Crime Reporters Association of Bangladesh (CRAB) in Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU), the daily said.
He also claimed that, “We have indentified those and arrested them who were involved in all past incidents. These incidents are taking place to stir up instability in the country.”
“We quite firmly can assert that everything is in our control.”
This attack on the Ahmadiyya Muslim community followed a series of blasts on Hindu temples and attack on a Christian pastor in the northern district of Dinajpur – adjacent to Rajshahi.
Earlier this month, blasts were carried out at an Iskcon temple and Kantaji temple. One of the attackers caught red handed is a suspected JMB militant who confessed his involvement.
