Ashutosh Sarkar re-elected Law Reporters Forum’s president
Azizul Islam Pannu elected general secretary
Ashutosh Sarkar, senior reporter of The Daily Star, was re-elected president of the Law Reporters Forum (LRF) today for the term of 2017-18.
Azizul Islam Pannu of Boishakhi Television was elected general secretary while Mashudul Haque of ATN News became the new vice president of LRF.
A three-member election commission, led by senior journalist Ashraf-Ul-Alam, conducted the election at LRF's Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the Supreme Court Bar Association building in Dhaka. Tofayel Hossain and Mizan Malik were the other members of the election commission.
Ashutosh, who was elected the president of LRF for 2016-17 term, presided this year’s AGM.
Other office bearers --- Kabir Hossain of Daily Jugantor (joint secretary), Saidul Islam of Gazi TV (organising secretary), Ahmed Sarwar Bhuiyan of Baglavision (treasurer), Alamgir Hossain of Purboposchim.com (publicity and publication secretary), and Aminul Islam Mallik of Radio Dhoni (office secretary).
The executive committee members are: Habibur Rahman of Naya Diganta, Abdul Zabbar Khan (Breskingnews.com.bd), Afzal Hossain (Shomoy TV), Sulaiman Niloy (Bdnews24.com) and Mehedi Hasan Dalim (Raisingbd.com).
Wakil Ahmed Hiron of the Daily Samakal and AKM Rokibul Hasan of Ntv ran for the following president and general secretary post.
A total of 97 voters out of 104 cast their votes at the election.
