Police today dug out a pistol and some bullets from the house of former Jatiya Party lawmaker and suspected mastermind of MP Liton killing, Abdul Kader Khan.

The raid was carried out around 1:30am on the basis of information grilled out from arrested Kader, our local correspondent reports Sundarbanj Police Station Officer-in-Charge Atiar Rahman.

One pistol, two magazines and six bullets were dug out from the yard of his house located in Pashchim Chhaparhati village of the upazila, the OC said.

Col (retd) Abdul Kader Khan, a former Jatiya Party MP, was arrested in Bogra on February 21 for his suspected involvement in the murder of Gaibandha-1 Awami League MP Manzurul Islam Liton.

Yesterday, police authorities said Kader was the mastermind behind Liton’s murder and that he has been planning the killing for a year.

Liton was killed after unknown assailants opened fire on him inside his home in Sundarganj upazila of Gaibandha on December 31 last year.

Later, Liton's sister Tahmida Akhter Kakoli filed the case with Sundarganj Police Station against four to five unknown people.
