Arms, ammo seized

Police seized three firearms, seven bullets, six bombs and bomb-making materials from Ashrafpur in Sadar upazila of Meherpur district early yesterday. Acting on a tip-off, a police team led by Ahmaruzzaman, additional superintendent of police, raided a field in the area where a gang of robbers were taking preparation for committing robbery at around 2:30am. Sensing the presence of the law enforcers, the robbers fled the scene, leaving the arms, ammunition and bombs. Later, police seized two shutter guns, one pistol, seven bullets, seven crude bombs and bomb making materials from there.
