Ansar man confesses to killing colleague

Ansar member Rafiqul Islam, who was arrested on Saturday on charge of killing his colleague, gave confessional statement before a Khagrachhari court the following day.

Rafiqul, son of Mongal Mia of Logang Bazar area in Panchhari upazila of the district, was sent to jail after he gave confessional statement before Judicial Magistrate Abu Sufian Mohammad Noman under Section 164, said Fazlul Alam, investigation officer (IO) of the case.

On July 3, Rafiqul shot dead his colleague Nayek Amir Hossain at Chowdhury Tila Ansar camp following an altercation.

Rafiqul went into hiding with a rifle and bullets soon after the incident.
