Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) will go for tough action against its dwellers if they failed to keep their houses free from breeding places of Aedes mosquito which is the carrier of both chikungunya and dengue viruses.

“If any Aedes mosquito breeding ground or its egg or larva is found in any building, we will take legal action like fine or jail or both against its owners,” DSCC mayor Sayeed Khokon came up with the warning in a view exchange meeting at Nagar Bhaban today.

In a bid to make the effort a success, the mayor said, a mobile court will go for drives from April 8 at different parts in the area.

"We don't want to keep our city dwellers under any adverse situation," the mayor said calling upon the city dwellers to be aware of keeping clean their houses to destroy the breeding places of Aedes mosquito.

The DSCC will come up with a public announcement in this regard from tomorrow.
