8 CU students suspended for cheating in exam

The Chittagong University (CU) authorities have suspended eight of its students including six activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League for different terms in connection with cheating in admission test and internal examination today.

The Board of Residence Health and Disciplinary committee of the university took the decision at a meeting with Vice-Chancellor Prof Iftekhar Uddin Chowdhury in the chair, said CU Assistant Proctor Litan Mitra.

The suspended students are Shahidul Islam and Saidul Islam of economics department of 2015-2016 session, BCL men-- Raihanul Haque and Md Shahiullah were students of 2012-2013 session, Isteyak Ahmed Sowrov, a final year student of marketing department, Shariful Islam Nazmul, a second-year student of English department, Saddam Hossain and Julkarnain students of 2013-2014 session.

CU Assistant Proctor Litan Mitra said that the eight students were suspended for different terms as the university authorities found their involvement in the incidents after primary investigation.

The suspension date will commence from today, he added.
