6 Myanmar citizens among 8 held with Yaba tablets

Rapid Action Battalion in a drive detained eight people, including six Myanmar citizens, along with 6 lakh Yaba tablets in Patenga of Chittagong city early today.

Detained Nur Kabir, 40, Mohammad Jamal Hussain, 45, Mohammad Bashir Ahmed, 35, Mohammad Zabiullah, 25, Mohammad Bashiulla, 25, Mohammad Akther Hussain, 23 are all Rohingya from Mongdu of Myanmar, our Chittagong correspondent reports quoting Lt Col Miftah Uddin Ahmed, commanding officer of Rab-7.  

They are currently residing in Kutu Palong refugee camp in Chittagong.

The two other detained are Mohammad Ali Zohor, 38, and Mohammad Shahjahan, 45, hailing from different upazilas in Chittagong.

Acting on a tip-off, the Rab team detained the eight near Sluice Gate area of Charpara around 12:30am, Lt Col Miftah Uddin said.
