6 Bangladeshis killed in Saudi road crash

Six Bangladeshi workers were killed and another was injured in a road accident in Saudi Arabia today.

The accident took place when a car carrying the workers collided head-on with another car at Qatif town, 350 kilometres off the capital, Riyadh, Golam Moshi, Bangladesh ambassador to Saudi Arabia, told The Daily Star over phone.

The deceased were identified as Shahidul and his brother Babul from Ujirpur of Barisal, Rafiqul Islam from Keshabpur of Patuakhali, Rana Sahabuddin from Bhola, Sirajul Islam, and Sharif.

The injured Saiful Islam was admitted to a local hospital there, he added.

Officials from the Bangladesh embassy went to the spot immediately after the incident, the ambassador said.
