41 held while entering Bangladesh

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested 41 people when they were illegally entering Bangladesh from India through Putkhali border yesterday.

Lt Col Tarikul Hakim, commanding officer of BGB 49 Battalion, said on secret information, the border guards raided the border area and arrested 21 women, 15 men and five children while they were illegally entering Bangladesh from India.

Of the arrestees, four are Indians while the rest hail from Narail, Faridpur and Khulna.

They were later handed over to Beanpole Police Station, said the CO.
