4 killed in Cox’s Bazar road accident

Four people were killed and eight injured as a bus collided head-on with a human hauler in Chakaria upazila of Cox’s Bazar this afternoon.

The deceased Md Kalu, 42, his daughter Rina Akter, 17, and Kala Khatun, 50, of Moheshkhali and Shahriar Rayhan, 26, of Chakaria were the passengers of the human hauler.

A Cox’s Bazar-bound bus of Saudia Paribahan collided with a Chakaria-bound human hauler on Cox’s Bazar-Chittagong highway in Khasiakhali-Segunbagicha area around 3:00 pm, Abul Kalam Azad, officer-in-charge (OC) of Tolatuli Highway Police Station, told The Daily Star.

Four of the passengers died on the spot and the eight injured were taken to several local hospitals, the OC added.
