Four adults used fake national identity cards to rent the Nasirpur building, under siege of the police now, the caretaker told law enforcers during quizzing today.

Jewel Ahmed, caretaker of the one-storied house in Moulvibazar town’s Nasirpur and relative of the house owner Saifur Rahman, a UK expat, said the tenants came two months ago.

The tenant identified himself as one Kamrul Talukder alias Mahfuz and agreed to Tk 7,000 monthly rent, top law enforcing officials, who quizzed the caretaker, told The Daily Star seeking anonymity.

The tenant moved in two months ago with his wife, parents in-law and children. According to Jewel, four adults were in the house.

Police scrutinised the tenant information as they provided and found out that the identity cards they used were fake, officials of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime unit said.
