Three Bangladeshis, who recently returned from Sweden, might be released from Ashkona Hajj Camp quarantine centre today as they had no symptoms of Covid-19 during their 14-day stay there.

"A doctor from health ministry will check them and take decision on their release," Major Muhammad Mustofa Kamal Kushal, in-charge of the centre, told reporters during a press briefing this afternoon.

The army official said the authorities did not conduct any test for the 31 persons now residing there as none of them exhibited symptoms of Covid-19.

He also said there is an arrangement of 300 people in the 14 rooms at the Hajj camp and they have facilitated every room with two televisions, high-speed internet service and carom board for entertainment.

"The residents are served three meals and two snacks each every day…Doctors from Bangladesh Army are monitoring their health regularly. We are trying to fulfil their demands too," Maj Mustofa said.

The government on March 19 authorised Bangladesh Army to run two quarantine centres including at Ashkona Hajj Camp near the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
